I thought it was about time to update my blog now that something interesting hsa happened.
Just been on a fantastic trip to Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland for some skiing action. It was 7 days off exhilarating speed and tiredness. After a hellish 20 hour coach journey we stepped out into the Swiss Alps which are absolutely stunning! Words cannot descrivbe how in awe I was of my surroundings and the huge mountains looming up around me.
And I made the most of it by hurtling down them as fast as possible. At the beginning of the week I was a relative beginner having only skiied for 5 days 7years ago. But by the end of the week I was skiing black runs like nobodies business and my parallel turns would put an Olympic medalist to shame. I was also very proud to ski the Schiltorn which is an incredibly steep black run famously skied by James Bond in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." It was a definate brown trouser event but I came out the other side feeling like I owned the world.
And I think the most random aspect of the week was seeing a German Fighter Jet crash into the mountain side about 3 miles away. A huge ball of flame hurtled down the mountainside. Luckily it was nowhere near any pistes but one of the pilots was killed whilst the other ejected. It certainly wasn't what i expected to see and hopefully never will again.
So now I'm back and facing the prospect of essays and returning to university on Sunday. Hopefully by then I'll have finished peeling!!!!
