House of Nightmares

by paul-feesey @ 2006-09-24 - 20:27:28

Well I've finally arrived back in Notts and we're all moved into the house now though. Me and Becki arrived on Friday and the house was not finished. We had a realy stressful 2days which destroyed us as we tried to get it sorted. In fairness to the landlord, he did come and sort the house out for us. All of our probs are either sorted or being sorted, mostly due to mine and Becki's parents opening up a can of whoopass on the landlord.

When we arrived we had no mirrors,no curtains or curtain rails,no toilet roll holders, the house was dirty, someof the windows didnt open or close properly, all the furniture wasn't in.The list goes on and it really was lots of little problems creating one big problem. All it would take was 2 days of someone putting some effort in to fix it and it would be sorted. And it has really come together since Friday. Mike, Lesley and Alex will never have any idea what we went through to get this place even reasonably habitable.

Still, lets move on.Its nice now and I'm settling in,the internet is working and I'm still alive. My cooking hasn't killed me yet. Rightnow we have a whole loada people inour house and we're al just messing about and catching up.

Have spoken to Becca since she arrived at uni.She seems to be settling in but finding it a bit scary unsuprisingly.I'm praying for her and being there for herI hope.I'm gonna see her on Thursday which shall be awesome. She's such a star.Hope she hold in there. Tis always tuff at the start but it gets better.

Ah, student housing! Its a kind of ritual. My favourite student housing memories include flooding, bug infestation, and the death of the firstborn. Or was that the 12 plagues of Egypt? Well, it certainly felt like it at times...

I remember that moving in stuff too. Although actually halls were bad too - when I got there I found out the room I'd been allocated didn't actually exist...
